Wedding Wednesday: Culinary Inspired Favors
The way to your wedding guests heart is through their stomach. That's how the saying goes, right? Gifting them something they can use in future meals or enjoy in their morning tea is a unique and personal way to thank them and remind them of the special day.
Here are a few of my favorite palette-friendly wedding favors.
Infused Olive Oil
This is an easy DIY option that packs a fancy punch. Take a quality olive oil and add a sprig of rosemary for a favor full of flavor. Guests will be reminded of the special day as they cook a meal (maybe with their special someone) in the weeks after. Another idea - tie a pouch of spices to the bottle. Guests can add that to the infused olive oil for yummy bread dipping. There's a special kind of joy that comes from warm bread dipped in olive oil and spices.
A Sweet Touch
Jars of local honey are a sweet way to send your guests off, especially if you have out-of-towners. You can also pay homage to the season with infused simple syrups. If you're having a spring or summer wedding, honey lavender vanilla bean simple syrup is a tasty gift that guests can add to their morning tea. For a fall wedding, nothing screams autumn more than pumpkin spice lattes.
If you (or your beau) have a family member that is known for making the absolute best banana bread, why not share that with your wedding guests? Sharing a family recipe is such a personal way to thank your guests for sharing this special day with you. Other ideas- fresh homemade salsa or Nona's famous red sauce.
