Wedding Wednesday: Tim + Shelley
We couldn't be more excited to feature our first "real" wedding by our catering team with Social Catering & Events. Every wedding is special, but this one was extra special because the bride and groom were very good friends of ours and they added in so many fun, personal details to the day. Here's the full rundown.
The moment we stepped foot onto the property at the Old Willis Dairy, I knew they were in love with the space and it's easy to see why. The dairy is located right in the heart of Tallahassee, but you feel like you're 100 miles out of town. Tim and Shelley wanted a relaxed atmosphere so their friends and family could kick back, play games (on their custom made Bob's Burgers-inspired cornhole boards, of course) but also have lots of scenery options to capture some great wedding portraits.
Speaking of great wedding portraits, enter our sweet friend Kylene with Kylene and Ryan Studios. She had a field day walking Tim and Shelley around the property and capturing some beautiful pictures before the party got underway. She was kind enough to let us feature these photos, and you can check out her blog post with the full set HERE.
Everyone should get to eat their favorite foods on their big day, and that's where our catering team got creative to break out of the "normal" wedding menu. We set up a killer pizza bar featuring Tim and Shelley's favorite recipes from Midtown Pies. At every party we attend with our friends, Tim is the master of the cheese board so we put together a HUGE cheese and charcuterie display featuring flavors from around the world and a brie with a strawberry basil jam. We also added turkey jalapeno meatballs with a smoked gouda fondue- a recipe the groom came up with! To round things out, we tray passed some fresh caprese skewers and maple glazed bacon. That's right, we sent servers around with plates full of bacon and the guests loved it. The venue has a great fire pit that was begging for a S'mores bar, and it really became the hot spot for the night (fire jokes!)
Tim works in the beer industry so picking out the bar was probably the highest priority on his wedding list. After lots of taste testing, we settled on Founders All Day IPA and Orange Blossom Pilsner. For the toast we setup a special bomber of a bourbon barrel aged stout for the groom and an Italian prosecco for the bride (it's her fav).
Congratulations Tim & Shelley!
