Wedding Wednesday: Our Favorite Proposals

The very first and arguably the most important step in the wedding planning process is the engagement! You may not remember the color of your centerpieces or the hors d'oeuvres served during the cocktail hour but the proposal that started it all is etched in your memory forever.

March 20th is National Proposal Day. In honor of the day, we scoured the Internet for the most heartwarming, tear-jerking and warm fuzzy-producing proposals. Grab some tissues and watch below. Disclaimer: some of them are on the longer side but trust us, they're worth it!

This proposal was 365 days in the making and with the help of friends and family it ended in a sweet proposal set on the backdrop of the Aruban water. This man could teach us all a little something about patience with being able to keep a secret for so long. I'm sure it was so special for the soon-to-be bride to see shots of her doing everyday things like playing with the dog or folding laundry and realize that this whole time a proposal has been in the works.

Having a beautiful dress, shoes and jewelry laid out on the bed for you is probably top on the list of dreams for many women. But that and being whisked away in a limo with a glass of champagne in hand is just the tip of the iceberg for this proposal. The emotion of her now-fiancé as he pops the question is so special.

There aren't many love stories that begin at the age of ten. This couple has grown up together and a surprise proposal is the next chapter of their lives together. Using the music video as a cover for the proposal is so unique and gives the couple a special way to relive the day.

Confession: I'm a sucker for a homecoming video. There is something so special about seeing couples that have been away from each other for so long being reunited. Add in a surprise proposal and let the waterworks begin. Grab that tissue box.

It's safe to say the bar has officially been set.
